4RULES
ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE BY TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR
1. USBC rules and sanctioning will govern all Gran Prix Tour (GPT) events.
2. ELIGIBILITY: GPT
tournaments are open to all bowlers with the following exceptions:
A
- Any current or former
PBA member who is EXEMPT for the 10-11 season or has been EXEMPT any time in
the previous 3 years.
B
- Any player having won a
national or regional PBA title in the last 3 years.
C -In the Doubles and 5-person team events each
team may have only one bowler with an active PBA card.
Both A & B rules still apply, and The
GPT reserves the right to determine
the professional status of an entry at any time.
3. FEES:
Membership dues: $25 Annually
Non-Member fees: $10
per tournament
Tournament fees: $85 per tournament
***Note
- A late processing fee of $ 5 will be
charged for all walk-on entries which will be added to the prize fund.
4. Tournament Format: The GPT reserves the right to modify the
format due to lane availability, time requirements, etc.
Singles -
Qualifying - 9 games, cut field
to the top 5 bowlers.
- Finals - top 5 bowlers in a stepladder TV
style roll-off.
Doubles -
Qualifying - 8 games, cut field to top three teams.

Finals - top 3 teams in a stepladder TV style roll-off.
Team -
Qualifying - 6 games, cut field to top 1/3, pins carry over.

Finals - 2 games of match play with a 50 pin bonus.

Position round - 1 game with a 50 pin bonus.
OR
- Qualifying - 6 games, field cut
to top three teams.
- Finals - top 3 teams in a
stepladder TV style roll-off
5. Prize List: The regular tournament prize list will pay a
minimum of 1 for every 3. A trophy or
plaque will be awarded to the champion.
6. Gran Prix Points: GPT members participating in tournaments will be awarded points as
follows:
1st 10 pts
2nd 8 pts
3rd 6 pts
4th 5 pts
5th 4 pts
6th
- 12th 3 pts
13th - Cash
2 pts

7. TOP GUN – A plaque or bowling shirt
will be awarded to the outstanding bowler with the best ranking based on
points,
average, and
earnings. The following criteria will be use to break a tie. The most #1 rankings (points, average,
earnings), most tournament victories, most
points, highest average, and most prize money earned. Must bowl in
6 tournaments to qualify.
Note - The All-Star tournament will
count towards points ranking.
8. All-Star Tournament. A special tournament will be run at the end of the GPT season. All GPT bowlers who
have paid membership dues for 2010-2011, are in good standing ( no returned checks ) and who have bowled
in at least 1 tournament will be eligible to participate.
Entry fee will be based on tournament participation as follows -
10+ tournaments - $ 60
6-9 tournaments - $ 65
1-5 tournaments - $ 70
NOTE - This tournament must be paid in CASH (Entry Fee, brackets, & jackpots )
First Place will be $1,000 based on 42 entries.
9. Top 5 - The top 5 point leaders for the
2010 - 2011 season (6 tournaments minimum) will share in a Special Prize List
based on their standings.
1st - $100, 2nd - $75, 3rd - $60, 4th - $55, 5th - $50
Note
- The All-Star tournament will count towards the ranking.
10. A)
All current and previous members must wear a shirt with their
last name on the back. New members and guests
will have one tournament grace
period. No shorts unless otherwise
stated.
B)
All bowlers are required to give complete name, address, phone number,
social security number and USBC number.
C)
Lane courtesy of one pair on each side.
No double-jumping.
D)
No kicking racks, blatant cursing, or other misbehavior.
E)
No practice games on the tournament day. Follow the tournament
director’s instructions regarding warm-ups.
F)
Score sheets must be signed and turned in at the end of each squad. Ball numbers must be listed on the score
sheets.
G)
Withdraw - score must be turned in to the tournament director before
leaving the tournament.
H)
Gran Prix tournaments are sanctioned by the USBC. All bowlers must
present their USBC membership
card prior to the start of
competition.
I)
All bowling balls must be approved by USBC. To view the USBC

The GPT Director has the right to check any ball at any time during
competition.
11. Fines: The GPT
Director may assess fines of up to $ 10 per offense and /or suspension for
violations of the above rules.
12. Other: In all matters not covered by these rules,
the GPT Directors decision shall be final unless an appeal is made in
accordance with USBC Rule 329.
